National Career Service www.ncs.gov.in: ncs.gov.in the government job portal has been officially unveiled by PM Narendra Modi. Ministry of Labour and Employment of Government of India had launched a job portal known as National Career Service www.ncs.gov.in. A National ICT based portal is developed primarily to connect the opportunities with the aspirations of youth. This portal facilitates the online registration process of job seekers, job providers, skill providers, career counselors, etc. Contact number is 1800-425-1514 and you make the call between 08:00 AM to 08:00 PM

What is NCS?

The full form of NCS is National Career Service, this portal has been introduced by the government of India to connect job seekers and employers. It is a National ICT based portal that facilitates registration of job seekers, job providers, skill providers, career counsellors, etc.

NCS is not only a portal where you can search for private and Sarkari jobs; it also provides career counselling content through multiple channels like career centres, mobile devices, CSCs, etc

National Career Service-NCS Registration process Step By Steps

Step 1: Visit the NCS portal www.ncs.gov.in

Step 2: On the right side, you will see a login box, in which below the “Sign In” button you can find the ‘Sign Up’ button, click on it.

Step 3: A new page will appear asking for your role, in the “Register As” drop-down option. As you are a job seeker, select the ‘Jobseeker’ option from the drop-down list.

Step 4: A registration form will appear, fill the required details along with Unique Identification Number (either of Pan card, Voter’s Identity Card, Passport, Driving License, or UAN Number)

Step 5: Once you are done with all the details, enter the Captcha code and click on the checkbox of “I agree to terms and conditions”. Now you can click on the “Submit” button to proceed further.

Step 6: When registration is successful, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP to verify your registration.

How to log in and update profile

Go the NCS website and enter your user ID and password to login the portal. Once you are logged-in successfully, you will get your job seeker dashboard.

Steps to view and update the jobseeker profile

Step 1: In the job seeker dashboard, you can see multiple options in the left navigation panel. The second option is “View/Update NCS Profile” click on it.

Step 2: You will see the detailed profile of yours including – Personal information, Physical Attributes, Communication, Education & Training, Experience, Other Skills, My references, etc.

Step 3: Click on each profile tab and provide the missing details for instance – Communication. In this tab, you need to provide your current address and permanent address.

Step 4: Once you have filled the details, upload relevant documents under each tab using “DigiLocker connect” Link.

Note: Job seekers who are already registered on DigiLocker, can sign in using existing credentials and those who do not have DigiLocker account can sign up using mobile no. or Aadhaar no. Also, Jobseeker can update/delete documents anytime.

Step 5: After uploading the required document click on “Save” button to proceed further.

Step 6: Once all the details in each tab is filled and linked with the required document, your profile is ready to search for the job.

How to search and apply for jobs with NCS?

Once you have updated your profile now search for the desired job.

Step 1: Below the “View/Update NCS Profile” option, you can see the “Search Job” button. Click on it and another form will appear.

Step 2: There is one “Search Box” where you need to enter ‘Keyword’ and ‘Location’, then ‘Expected Salary’ and choose ‘Organization Type’.

Step 3: Now hit the “Search” button and you will see the list of available jobs.

Note: Jobseeker can save their search criteria to get job notification emails on his registered email. Further, you can refine search results using the filters.

Step 4: Select a job as per your interest and click on the “Apply” button on the right.

NCS is one stop for job seekers to search and apply for Sarkari jobs and private jobs just in a few simple clicks. You can create your profile easily and link your documents as well using Digilocker. This enables you to update and add new documents from anywhere and anytime.63
